Summer Brunch at the Wallace Collection, with PAWA (Saturday 6th July 2013)

We organised a charity-themed brunch in the summer at Hertford House and the Wallace Collection –  a private historic house and museum of fine art and artefacts.   Around ten old girls joined for brunch that morning.  Our guest speaker was Betty Yao, a trustee of the Pan-Asian Women Association who gave us an introduction to their work on supporting the education of young women in Asia.

Chinese New Year gathering (Saturday 23 February 2013)

To welcome the Year of the Snake, we gathered at the Shanghai Blues Restaurant for a festive reunion.  It was wonderful to see so many old and new faces at the start of the year.  The lunch kicked off with a fun Quiz about DGS kindly prepared by Anne-Marie and Katie.   Then a selection of small dishes and dim sums were served.   We ended the event with a Raffle draw with prizes kindly donated by the Committee, which managed to raise around £60 enough to cover this year’s cost of running the website!  We are very grateful indeed to all those who contributed.   We hope you enjoyed the event, and look forward to the next time we meet again.  Wishing you a successful and happy Year of the Snake!

Welcome Lunch and AGM (Saturday 13 October 2012)

We had a lovely gathering of two tables of 10 for a dim-sum lunch on Saturday 13 October. It was the first event organised by the current committee so each of us introduced ourselves before we said Grace (led by Mary Alexander) to remember especially Betty Primrose, one of our Members who recently passed away.

We also had the pleasure of the company of Christina and Sophie from the Concordia Foundation, who introduced who they are, what they do and how we can work together in the future.

After a wonderful spread of delicious dimsums and rice/noodle dishes, we gathered to discuss ways forward of our Association.

A big thank you to you all who took part and contributed. If you have any suggestions on what we could organise in the future, please share your views at
